SWIMMING POOL SOLAR COVERS
A solar cover or solar blanket will increase swimming pool water temperature by 10 to 15 degrees (when used properly) and will reduce heating costs up to 75%. Pool water stays warmer longer, therefore extending the swimming season. Most heat loss in a pool is caused by evaporation. A solar cover will trap the heat in and reduce evaporation by around 95% which will save up to 50% on pool chemical usage while the pool is covered. The cover also acts as a barrier to prevent leaves and debris from entering the swimming pool, reducing maintenance time.
Solar covers are designed to retain heat. Suns rays passes through the blanket, the heat warms the water and the heat is retained in the water. It is restricted from readily dissipating into the atmosphere due to the special design of the cover. Much like a top on a pot, keeping the top on hold the heat in, taking the top off lets the heat escape.
Solar covers are made from a film of thousands of tiny bubbles, which work together to collect and retain heat in your swimming pool. The solar cover floats on top of the water bubble side down.
